Palmhouse Foundation brought together students, mentors, alumni and partners for a transformative two-day mentorship event in Githunguri, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing Kenya’s future leaders through education and lifelong guidance.
Held on the 4th and 5th of April, the event gathered current beneficiaries, alumni and esteemed mentors for a program designed to inspire, educate and empower. Through interactive sessions, motivational talks, group discussions and one-on-one mentorship, students were equipped with vital life skills and insights to help them navigate both academic and personal journeys.
The Foundation’s mission, “To finance the secondary education of deserving students and mentor them through life,” was at the heart of the gathering. True to this mission, the event served as a platform not only for guidance but also for building strong networks between students and professionals from diverse fields.
A major highlight of the event was the participation of Palmhouse alumni, many of whom returned as mentors and role models. Their stories of resilience, growth, and success in various sectors – including education, entrepreneurship and public service—served as living proof of the Foundation’s vision: “To enable deserving students to realize their dreams, transform their lives, their families and society.”
Trustees and long-time supporters were also present, offering encouragement and reiterating their commitment to the Foundation’s cause. The sessions emphasized personal discipline, leadership, financial literacy, career planning and the importance of giving back.
The event concluded with a renewed sense of hope and determination among the students. For many, it was more than just a mentorship session – it was a life-shaping experience.
As Palmhouse Foundation looks ahead, events like this continue to play a critical role in achieving its long-term impact: creating a ripple effect where beneficiaries grow into changemakers, lifting others as they rise.
