A key focus of the Palmhouse Foundation is the mentoring of students not only through their secondary school but also in later life to produce successful citizens who can transform their lives, that of their families and impact positively on society.
Mentoring is provided by Trustees and carefully selected mentors who meet with the students at least once a school term to assess their performance and provide counsel on setting academic and personal goals and discuss issues that could affect their progress. In addition, all the students attend the group mentoring sessions to hear from role models, obtains new life skills and share their experiences among themselves.
Parents and guardians are also expected to participate in the mentoring of the students. During the initial meeting with beneficiaries, parents/ guardians are also invited to the meeting and their role in the continuing education of the child explained.
